1. Self-Paced Certificate Program

  • The Self-Paced (CFP®) Certificate Program is an innovative e-learning solution combining elements of learner driven and instructor facilitated instruction. Students enrolling in the self-paced program are able to playback a 4 hour instructor led end of course review highlighting key topics.

    • Including Kingdom Advisors Core  Training (CKA) as the Capstone Course- A university-based, 19 Module, online, self-directed certificate course developed in collaboration with the Ron Blue Institute and targeted to the practicing financial professional who desires to integrate biblical decision-making principles into their practice and achieve the CKA® designation.

2. Online, Instructor-Led Certificate Program

  • The Online, Instructor-Led (CFP®) Certificate Program format is designed for students who prefer more of a traditional classroom setting. Students meet twice a week online with an instructor to review and discuss course material in an interactive and engaging environment. These courses include an online mid-term and final exam.

CFP Courses:

Fundamentals of Financial Planning and Insurance

This course introduces participants to the theory and practice of financial planning. It provides an overview of the financial planning process and offers guidance for managing a client's risk while achieving goals through savings and investments. Topics include life, health, disability and long-term care as well as property, Social Security and personal liability insurance. In addition, the course covers time value of money, education and retirement funding. A financial calculator, such as an HP 12C or 10BII, is required.

Investment Planning

This course introduces concepts regarding modern portfolio theory, risk reduction, debt and equity securities, derivatives (including options and futures contracts) and asset allocation strategies. Participants will learn how to determine a client's risk tolerance and select appropriate assets based on the assessed risk tolerance and the client's goals.

Income Tax Planning

This course provides detailed coverage of gross income inclusions, exclusions, deductions before and after adjusted gross income, and tax credits, while focusing on the taxation of individuals, sole proprietorships, C-corps, S-corps, partnerships and LLCs. In addition, participants will learn planning techniques for taxation avoidance and minimization strategies.

 

Retirement Planning

This course provides a comprehensive overview of qualified (defined benefit, profit share, 401(k) plans and non-qualified (deferred compensation, incentive stock options, employee stock purchase plans) retirement plans, other tax-advantaged plans (SIMPLE, Roth and traditional IRAs), and employee benefits. This course also presents an overview of the Social Security disability and health care programs such as Medicare.

Estate Planning

This course provides professionals with an introduction to wills, trusts, the probate process and the taxation of estates. Course participants will also learn the tax implications of gifts and bequests during lifetime and at death. The approach provides students with taxation avoidance and minimization techniques useful in planning a client's estate.

Plan Presentation/Capstone Course

The Plan Presentation course consists of both online, self-paced study combined with live-online instruction. Students will learn how to prepare and present a financial plan with a biblical worldview by going through the Certified Kingdom Advisors modules and then using financial planning software and multiple approaches to identify and plan for a client's goals and risks. This course does fulfill the CFP Board's Capstone Course requirement.

1. Self-Paced Certificate Program - $3,395, plus the costs of books: $995

2. Online, Instructor-Led Certificate Program - $5,995, plus the costs of books: $995

Please Note: Due to this program being a non credited certificate program, no financial aid will be accepted . Also, both programs must be paid in full.

Time & Duration:

1. Self-Paced Certificate Program

2. Online, Instructor-Led Certificate Program

Students generally complete the entire program in approximately nine months or less. You are given one year to complete the CFP courses and six months to complete the CKA courses, quizzes, and submission paperwork.

 

Students meet twice a week online with an instructor to review and discuss course material in an interactive and engaging environment. Classroom times are Mon&Wed 6-8pm EST or Tue&Thu 8-10pm EST. Best of all, classes are recorded for playback so students are not penalized if they miss a session. The Live-Online Courses begin in the months of January, March, May, July, September, and November. You are given one year to complete the CFP courses and six months to complete the CKA courses, quizzes, and submission paperwork.  

 

 

 
 

Requirements:

Students must complete all six courses with a passing grade of 70% or greater in order to fulfill the CFP® certification education requirement. Following successful completion of your program, Dalton offers a CFP review program.

Capstone Alternative Program:

The Capstone Alternative Program allows students who have already completed some of the educational requirements outlined by the CFP Board to take the Capstone Course only prior to sitting for the CFP Exam.
